We are still waiting for the official public Beta release of Google Base. The buzz about it at different blogs has slowed down, but there are still speculations on different uses you can get out of Google Base.
Philipp at Google Blogoscoped has posted a comprehensive list of screenshots of Google Base. His screenshots are annotated with interesting comments.
The comments that refers to "Payment" and Google Maps have led many to believe that Google Base to be an eBay/ Craiglist killer because the Payment feature would allow you to collect payment on an item that you sell and the Maps feature would allow prospective buyers where to pick up their purchases.
When Google Base went live sporadically, some users were able to log-in and test drive it temporarily. Some users took screenshots of the site, giving you a sneak peak at it.
